Great family campground!
|
|
We visit Baraboo Hills every summer at least once. We love it so much we had a our family reunion there last year. Some folks stayed in the deluxe log cabins that had air conditioning and bathrooms. Some folks had trailers and used the full hook-up sites, and a couple of people camped in a tent. Their service was great. They kept the group together as much as possible, and it was great they could take care of everyone's needs. They have the cleanest and nicest bathhouse we have ever seen at a campground. The pool was great, but what the kids really like was the free use of bikes, fishing pond and free use of sports equipment. We love we didn't need to haul all that stuff with us. The kids always had something to do and we could relax and enjoy ourself. It was close to Devils Lake State Park which had great swimming and hiking, and to the Dells water parks. We can't wait to come back.

Camping at the Dells - from TripAdvisor.com
|

We just returned from our first trip to the Dells, and had a great time. We highly recommend Baraboo Hills Campground in Baraboo. The camping Cabins were great...clean, easily accommodating the 5 of us. Bathrooms and showers were keep clean. Heated pool, pee wee golf, bikers, basketballs, baseballs & mitts, volleyball, horseshoes...all at no charge. It's only 10 minutes from the Dells, and better yet only minutes from Wal-Mart for the camping items your forgot at home! We hope to go back next summer.

Nice place in the Dells - from TripAdvisor.com
|
This is a very nice campground for families with children. The wooded and separate sites are great for privacy-seekers (and a welcome break from the sardine-like lots of many campgrounds). There are many activities for the kids, almost all free with the site.
It's about 10 miles from the Dells, but that's a blessing to be far away from the madness downtown and the noise of the interstate.
If you're into bicycling, there's a great ride through the town of Baraboo and around Devils Lake. Be ready for some hills.
The wooded sites have some necessary drawbacks. They don't dry out well, so be careful when parking your big rig after a few days of rain. And bring DEET for those pesky mosquitoes.
All in all, this is a really nice campground.
