Watch out for the Train noise - from TripAdvisor.com
Campground is ok, but just be warned that the campground is located approx. 1/4 mile from the train tracks. When the train runs through an intersection near the campground, it'll blow its horn several times. Not a big problem during the day time, but it kept us up during the night (one Saturday we stayed, we woke up 5 times). The management is not sympathetic to complaints about the noise, they remarked that it's "normal operations." So much for getting away from the big city for the peace and serenity of camping.

The Campground Was Great - from TripAdvisor.com
Me and my family stayed at the Kings Dominion Campground from June 27 thru July 2 for the Indycar series race at Richmond and went to Kings Dominion. It was a great place to stay, very nice, everything was clean, the staff was very nice and the game room is awesome plenty of things to do, we really enjoyed playing pool. We will be returning in September for the NASCAR weekend so i hope everyone else will chose the campground as well its better than a hotel.

Good family & pet friendly camping - from TripAdvisor.com
We recently stayed at King's Dominion Campground for a long weekend a had a good experience. Not a campground for camping purists of course, but we were staying here to take the little one to Kings Dominon theme park AND enjoy some tent camping & the great outdoors with our family pet. Had a very nice campstore, hand dipped ice cream, arcade/Tv/game room with pool and mini golf. Also a kids park area. Offers AAA discount and has a free shuttle to and from theme park. Note to people with pets: Campground IS pet friendly...and so is the shuttle to Kings Dominion because the theme park has a kennel for only $5 a day while your inside! Had many nice tent sites with picnic tables and firerings as well as hook up sites for more "advanced campers." Campstore has ice and firewood and there is a Walmart nearby.

You will get robbed - from TripAdvisor.com
Campers beware! This place is nearly deserted during the day without adequate security. This place is known to have campers damaged and looted. The management does not seem to care, nor do they employee further security during the day (when everyone else is away). Do not use this campground.

Great Campground and Service - from TripAdvisor.com
My wife and I, and two dogs just returned from a weekend trip to Kings Dominion and stayed at the campground for the first time. We were tenting and stayed at one of the primitive sites.
We loved the campground!! The pool was very nice and refreshing. The store was well stocked and convenient. The shuttle to the park was efficient and a nice perk.
All of the staff, including the shuttle drivers, were extremely friendly and nice and very helpful. Say hi to Nighttime Nancy, she's very informative.
We took the dogs to the kennel while we were at the park....only $5 per dog per day. Again, very friendly staff and a very nice convenience.
The park was beautiful and the rides were awesome! We will definitely be back a couple more times before the end of the season.
The only downside might be the distance from our site to the bathroom. A little inconvenient in the middle of the night.

Nice for the price... - from TripAdvisor.com
We have stayed at the Kings Dominion Campgrounds in the past and did so again this past weekend. Both times have been pleasurable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The fellow campers usually make nice neighbors. The grounds has a shuttle that runs throughout the day to save you on parking and the headaches of visiting KD. The facilities are well maintained, also.
We will use the campgrounds on future visits as long as the weather and summer bugs will permit.

Great Place, Friendly staff!! - from TripAdvisor.com
We stayed at the campground for a week before the park opened and for a few days after the park opened and it was great. We could bring our dog along for the trip so he wouldn't have to be left at home. The campground was immaculate, had friendly staff and was a real pleasure to stay in. We will definitely be back.
