Awesome Campground and Lodge - from TripAdvisor.com
Big Meadows Campgrounds is one of the most beautiful places I have ever camped in my life. I have also stayed at the lodge which I think is incredible but I like camping better. The lodge is rustic and very much set in its natural surroundings. The review below gave a 1 which I don't believe is fair. I am 43 and camp with my wife and 3 kids. We will be there this weekend 10/18 - 10/21. This is our 4th trip this year. I first camped here when I was 12. The hiking is unbelievable. All campsites have no electricity or running water. Water is just a few step away. The showers are warm, the camp store has everything you need. You will see a lot of wildlife. Eat some wild mushrooms. If you like the outdoors or just need to get away and relax, this is the place!

Incredible place to stay! - from TripAdvisor.com

Sometimes, National Park Campgrounds get a bad reputation for being crowded and dirty. That is certainly not the case for Big Meadow Campground. It has been around for years and continues to be maintained in a lovely manner cooperating with all of nature. We stayed in September and there were no crowds, incredible weather and wildlife galore. Our "dinner entertainment" was the parade of deer that wandered through the campground. We were parked on a hillside and looked out over the valley with an incredible view. We could have stayed there forever. The bathhouses were clean and modern with lots of hot water. They were placed nearby to campsites, so they were convenient for everyone. The park facilities were also conveniently located and even though the crowds were gone, the services were all available. it was a wonderful time to go. It was a wonderful experience and we will be back again as soon as possible.
