Beware of service station cover-ups ! - from TripAdvisor.com
|
|
While traveling this spring, we decided to stay at Ruby's Inn RV park. The staff was rushed and unorganized, still friendly however. Spaces were real close to another, plenty of length though. We decided to have a service performed on our tow vehicle while we were there, normally a $65-70 charge. Two days later, a new alternator, rental car to pick up the part in a town 80 miles away, and over $500.00 spent, we were on our way. The alternator was apparently shorted out to the filter wrench during the oil change. A normal occurrence for this vehicle due to the location of the alternator, and the filter. I have over 100K miles on the vehicle, many services performed in many locations , never a problem. We sent a letter to the Mgr. of the station (still no word back). I called 5-6 weeks after sending letter, to get the name of the Mgr., so we could contact him/her directly and make sure our letter was received. When the phone was answered, I requested the name of the Mgr., there was a mumble, mumble I failed to understand. I asked the person to please repeat the name, or spell it. I was told they were busy, and hung up. Family owned businesses that have a grip on their market, are a hot spot for rude treatment like this. We have plenty of travel plans for the future, and have a lot of friends. We certainly won't stop there again, and will suggest the same to our friends. We feel this is an excusable event, a simple mistake by a mechanic, but the treatment from management is horrible.

Give Ruby's a try! - from TripAdvisor.com
|
|
We typically like to camp in campgrounds within the National Parks, more of a true camping experience even with our camping trailer. Neither of the two campgrounds within Bryce NP took reservations and since we were driving from Colorado, I like the peace of mind knowing I have a site reserved. Ruby's is more like a KOA with all the amenities such as laundry, pool, hook ups, dump station and a market down the road. I don't normally like this kind of campground, but I liked Ruby's. The sites near the back of the campground, especially sites 133 and 132 still have electric and water hooks ups and were quite shaded and wooded. We had site 133, a pull through which overlooked a meadow, I think it was the best site in the campground. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay, being able to do some laundry and have easy access to the market. There is a huge gift shop right down that road by Ruby's Inn, you can buy just about anything here! They even offer a rodeo on Wednesday evenings. The campground was quiet at night and although these touristy campgrounds are not usually my thing, I would stay here again! Ruby's is a destination in and of itself!

A pleasant park, full hookups, very convenient - from TripAdvisor.com
|
Ruby's RV Park has a dandy location just a couple of miles outside the gates of Bryce Canyon National Park. It is very large and sprawling, with nice pine trees throughout much of the park.
The park is big-rig friendly, however, there are some sharp turns going into some of the spaces. Most of the spaces have adequate room, although some are smaller and narrower. They are gravel and crushed aggregate, mostly level, with picnic tables. The interior roads are gravel.
The only sites that have TV and wi-fi are located directly behind the office, in a cluster. We opted for a space farther away and used our satellite dish. Managed without wi-fi for three nights, lol!
The big advantage of Ruby's is that they have *full* hookups: water, electricity and sewer. The electricity in particular comes in very handy when the nights are freezing, as they are for over 200 nights a year there. The elevation is nearly 8,000 feet.
The previous reviewers mentioned the convenient amenities so won't repeat except to say the laundry is very large, with lots of clean machines.
The staff was quite friendly and efficient. This park would be a nice place to stay no matter where it was located.

Cute little village - from TripAdvisor.com

Ruby's Inn is a fun spot to stay while visiting Bryce Canyon National Park. It is right outside the park, so very convenient. It is very touristy, with lots of opportunities to spend money. It has a large gift shop and there is a replica of an old west town across the road, with more shops and an ice cream parlor. They have their own fast food restaurant and pizza next door.

Great stop for bryce canyon - from TripAdvisor.com
|
|
A clean, friendly place right on the door step of Bryce Canyon. A short walk from the r.v. park to the main Ruby's Inn complex. It has lodging, a large store, a restaurant with great food and a fantastic "lobby" area from where you can book horse rides, tours, lodging etc, all made in timbers and it has a rather "granduer" feel about it,great stuff! Just across the road is the "old Bryce Town", a replica wild west street with small stores, and a photo opportunity in the old jail house. You can use the free shuttle bus system into Bryce Canyon, more than likely the reason your here is the canyon and wow! What a place. Incredible views across the canyon like nowhere else on earth. We were here in October and the bus service had finished for the season so we drove down, very good paved roads to the view points. Be prepared if you visit this time of year [luckily we were] as the temperatures can drop dramatically at this altitude at night, in our case -11 f. The staff had pre-warned us to disconnect our water supply to the r.v before going to bed, good job to, the water supply froze.

Great for famiies - from TripAdvisor.com
|
This was our 5th time coming to Ruby's Inn and RV Park. We have mostly used the RV Park/campground. Agree with others that the rooms at the inn itself are just average, but considering the location, it is still a great value. We have had 2 family reunions here.
The RV sites do have some leveling issues, but the RV park has a great laundry/restroom facilities and two pools. The inn itself has a nice store and there are plenty of activities to keep you busy in addition to the days of hiking in Bryce and surrounding areas. Shuttles to the park available. There is horseback riding, ATV and bike rentals, Helicopter and plane rides and a rodeo. Red Canyon, Cedar Breaks and Zions are within 10 minutes to 1-1/2 hours away. Making this a great central location to visit many areas. Could easily be here a week and not do everything.
These facilities are on par with all other national park areas, including, Yellowstone, Teton National Park, Zions, Yosemite, etc.

Ruby's Campground is right at Bryce park, a huge plus. Shuttle service (National Parks Service) right at the road no more then one hundred yards from the campground.
Sites are nice, level, dirt,, clean, etc...
We ate in the restaurant which was a nice buffet and had a great meal.

Has seen better days - from TripAdvisor.com

Great location. OK for overnight but would not have wanted to stay longer. Family suite in need of refurbishment, one bedroom had no window and no AC unit [ceiling fan had to be left on all night]. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant busy and noisy but food OK. Perhaps this place could do with some competition as I get the feeling it will always fill up because of where it is.

Disappointing stay - from TripAdvisor.com
|
|
We were very disappointed in our stay at Ruby's Inn. The room wasn't clean, the shower couldn't keep a single temperature (a scalding danger) and when we asked for advice on what to do, other services to purchase (such as the rodeo and horse backriding) was pushed rather than a way to enjoy Bryce. The restaurant food was mediocre.

A beautiful park with a commodity inn - from TripAdvisor.com

The rooms at Ruby's Inn are big, the restaurant mass quantity. It is a perfect location for seeing the park. The staff is nice and there is much information available in the lobby. You must understand what you are getting when you stay here.
