Cavern is a must see. The campground is a must bypass. My family tent camps and found the facilities lacking the advertised charms. The tent sites are extremely close together. You are unable to have a private conversation as your neighbors are so close they can hear you in even the most normal tones. The location was great and the scenery is nice but... I don't think we will be returning. We arrived late and our first encounter with the campsite manager was very unpleasant. When we arrived it was during the night we were unsure where our campsite was so when we were approached by the campsite manager we were glad. He appeared irritated with us told my husband " Is this yours (pointing at our motor home) he was rude and could care less that...

The grounds at Raccoon Mountain are pretty good and is in an excellent location. We rented out Cabin #1 (which I understand is now called Cabin #5 since they remodeled it prior to our visit). The cabin came with bed linens which was a nice surprise as they stated it did not when we reserved it. The new construction on this cabin is pieced and not done professionally. Saw a lot of things that could be made better at Raccoon Mountain. Some pets were allowed off leash, which is not a safe thing. A lot of drinking going on late at night, quite noisy at times at night. Most people were very nice but there were a few who did not take pride in their sites. Pool was nice and grounds fairly well kept.

My family decided to camp out for the weekend. We had an excellent time with the Cave, Gemstones, Go-Karts, & Batting Cages. The pool & grounds were well kept. The bathrooms were also in excellent shape. This is a great place to take the family for fun and relaxation. Would highly recommend and am planning a trip back soon. It was fun!
