2.0 stars2.0 stars2.0 stars2.0 stars2.0 stars Nice place, rude staff - from TripAdvisor.com
The location was great and the scenery is nice but... I don't think we will be returning. We arrived late and our first encounter with the campsite manager was very unpleasant. When we arrived it was during the night we were unsure where our campsite was so when we were approached by the campsite manager we were glad. He appeared irritated with us told my husband " Is this yours (pointing at our motor home) he was rude and could care less that we were looking for our site. Our second encounter with staff was about the same all teenage kids all rude wouldn't even look away from what they were doing to speak to us. Overall we left feeling very unwanted and disappointed we spent our money staying here.

2.0 stars2.0 stars2.0 stars2.0 stars2.0 stars Caverns are nice park is okay - from TripAdvisor.com
I am staying at Raccoon Mountain RV Park for a week. The park is not that bad however they got a lot of garbage every wear at the big field and at some camp sites. Trash is built up around trash cans and there is a lot of flies and horse flies so that was a pain to deal with. The parks is really nice for the kids they liked the sand and the pool was kept clean and nice. Bathroom were not to bad wish they were better kept for the campers. Go karts were nice a lot of people don't ride on them and sometimes they are not open. Caverns were really nice good tour like more then Ruby Falls. Nice gift shop and not over priced. Over all not that bad needs some work and the price is right! Hope this will be helpful! Like I said it is not bad it could be worse but the price is right!
The only thing that is bad like I said is the garbage around the area they need more help here.

3.0 stars3.0 stars3.0 stars3.0 stars3.0 stars Pretty Good Stay - from TripAdvisor.com
The grounds at Raccoon Mountain are pretty good and is in an excellent location. We rented out Cabin #1 (which I understand is now called Cabin #5 since they remodeled it prior to our visit). The cabin came with bed linens which was a nice surprise as they stated it did not when we reserved it. The new construction on this cabin is pieced and not done professionally. You can see the outside all around the front door jamb and the bathroom door did not shut at all. Don't stay here in the winter - you'll freeze with the wind whistling thru the sides of the front door or if you want any privacy in the bathroom.

The floor was absolutely filthy and was not cleaned before we arrived so everything that touched the floor was instantly dirty. It was also pretty nasty after a shower since ther is no bath mat and you step out of the shower directly onto dirty mud caked tile - ick!. The management didn't seem to be concerned about it when I complained...not sure if the dust and dirt was leftover from construction or they just don't clean the floors.

Also, they were constructing a privacy fence on the side of the cabin during our stay. They blocked the driveway once when we came home at night to find some rather large (and very heavy) rocks blocking where we were supposed to park. They were pretty good about respecting our privacy and not working until we were out for the day from the cabin.

The RV camping looked Great for RV-ers.

The go-karts were really fun, the panning for gems was a hit with my child and the cavern tour was good - the tour guide was young but knew his stuff.

Saw a lot of things that could be made better at Raccoon Mountain. Some pets were allowed off leash, which is not a safe thing. A lot of drinking going on late at night, quite noisy at times at night. Most people were very nice but there were a few who did not take pride in their sites. Pool was nice and grounds fairly well kept.

This was one of the best experiences my boys have ever had. Great location, only minutes from downtown, pool, playground, great bathhouse facilities, cave gem panning and a hell of a Go Kart track. We will go back ever chance we get. I would recommend this park to anyone. They also had one of the most friendly staffs in the camping business we have found yet. We have a big camper, a 40' motor home towing and had no problem making turns in the park. Surprisingly young staff, but the young manager had everything in line and all the staff was courteous and more than willing to help with anything you need at all. We had a flat on our tow trailer and the manager actually drove me to the tire repair place and waited while they fixed it. We will be back next year!

I used to like Raccoon Mountain. I have been here four times before, but now they have removed the best attractions to make room for a country club. The last time we were there they cursed our son for wrecking a go cat and then they wouldn't even open the pool for our kids to swim. We argued about it and we had to leave and can't go back, not that we would want to anyway. We have a better campsite in our front yard.

Over booked the more expensive cabin, so they offered me the cheaper cabin free for the night. No fridge, no t.v., lots of quality time with my children. The next night, got to rent the more expensive cabin. Kids glued to t.v. all night. The next time I go, I will be booking the cheaper cabin. As far as the camp ground goes, I was surprised at how clean the hiking trails were. The pool was great and clean too. Very helpful and friendly staff. I wouldn't go on another trip without spending at least one night there. Great tent areas too. I was very pleases with my visit, and I bet you will be too.

My family decided to camp out for the weekend. We had an excellent time with the Cave, Gemstones, Go-Karts, & Batting Cages. The pool & grounds were well kept. The bathrooms were also in excellent shape. This is a great place to take the family for fun and relaxation. Would highly recommend and am planning a trip back soon. It was fun!
