My family and I started going to Battle Creek Campground for vacation in 2001, we went there every year until 2006 when we decided to stay at a campground further up the road because it had a pool. We were so disappointed in the other campground that we will never stay there again. The manager/owners of Battle Creek have been wonderful to our family, they are friendly and genuinely care if you are enjoying your stay. Their restrooms and Cabins are always clean. The hold an Ice Cream social for the fourth of July for all campers. In 2004 they even made a point of introducing my daughter to the "Cowboy Poet" who was there as entertainment, when they learned she loved to write as well and even gave her some of his books. It is close to a lot of great attractions (Mount Rushmore etc.) and only about 45 minutes from Rapid City. One extra bonus you can see the fireworks over Rushmore from their campground. I would highly recommend this gem of a hideaway to anyone who enjoys camping. Rustic or cabin.

Battle Creek Campground is an awesome place to stay. It is cheep. It is very clean and very big and fun. 1880 train passer right in front of the campground. I give it 5 stars. They have full hookups and cabins.
