Busy place during labor day weekend - from TripAdvisor.com
|
San Diego Metro KOA caters to folks who tent, rv, or stay in one of their cabins. It is actually located in Chula Vista and is approx 25-30min from Seaworld, Cabrillo NP, seaport village and other San Diego sights. We stayed during the labor day weekend in our toy hauler. Because it was a holiday weekend, the place was extremely packed and the RV sites were very close together, we got a back in site and the KOA host had to ask a few neighboring RVers to move their cars so that there will be room to back our 28' toy hauler into our spot. I would suggest getting a pull thru for anything over 23'.
Also each site allows up to 8 guests but my sister/brother in-law were charged $4 per person per night anyway because they came in a separate car (also another fee of $5 per car per night) (so including my husband and i and our kids - 6yr old 10mos old only adds up to 6, even though children are free so the total count is actually 4).
Perhaps it's because we stayed during labor day weekend, the place was messy, pool overcrowded, kids walking thru other people's sites, running/screaming everywhere (with no adult supervision around)...we stayed because it is approx 30 minutes from Seaworld and other San Diego sights.
