Great for families, well, not quiet ones! - from TripAdvisor.com

Are you confused by the reviews? It's easy to see why - so many opposite opinions- not much in between. Either people love it or hate it. So here's my take -
Are you an outgoing family looking for activities, socializing, beach time, restaurant, park, and/or marina? Then this is your place!
Are you looking for a quiet spot to enjoy some time alone with those you came with or a tent camper looking for a cheaper primitive spot? This is not your place.
Campland has a wide array of spots. Beach views, park views, playground views, pool views, concert views, bayside views, and yes, parking lot views. There is also a section of parking lot, close to the beach that is not the best spot you will ever stay in, but the rest of the experience can definitely make up for it. If you book far enough in advance, you will surely get a nice spot.
One reviewer commented on the color of the water. Well, the "bay beach" is definitely different from the "ocean beach". The webster definition of bay is " a small body of water set off from the main body " and as such doesn't get the same amount of water exchange that the oceanfront beaches have. Yes, the water will sometimes look more like a lake than an ocean beach. So if you absolutely abhor lakes/bays and insist on only entering ocean fresh water, there is a pool for you and an oceanfront beach a few blocks away.
One reviewer commented on the size of the lots being literally twice the size of a car. Well, like almost every campground I have been in, there is a variety of site sizes. And Campland has an Amazing selection -about 550-600 sites.
I usually appreciate the balance that negative reviews provide me when making my decisions on where to go - but fairness is also very important and I felt that some of the negative reviews were unfair. So if this doesn't sound like your cup of tea - now you know before you go! To everyone else... we look forward to making this an annual vacation spot with our young children!
