Disaster - from TripAdvisor.com
We checked in at 2pm on 9/19/08 at Turner Falls, set up camp (3 tents). All was well with 4 grandkids (ages 2,3,5,7), my daughter & her husband, myself & my wife. About 5-6pm a biker gang came in & decided to camp by us in cow pen. About 11pm we called police due to rowdy, loud, obnoxious, rude, drunk, fighting. Police came, identified us as the complainants to the bikers, then went to them to tell them to be quiet. Police left &...

This place went down hill big time! - from TripAdvisor.com

Whoever took over Turner Falls Park is not doing a good job at all. Horribly over priced.
Over Crowded. Over patrolled and the officers are rude to people and overbearing. I've enjoyed past visits and I am pretty sure my last visit was my last. I read that the City of Davis took over and I thought they would have made some changes for the good. I do not have anything positive to say about Turner Falls anymore which is unfortunate because this...

Too strict and should be cleaner! - from TripAdvisor.com

It's been about eight years since I last stayed at Turner Falls. I usually like to camp just beyond (west) of the tee pee area, along the creek. I noticed a sign that said no camping at tee pees, so I asked a Davis police officer if I could pitch a tent beyond the tee pees and he said "I don't see why not". I didn't see why not either, so cool. We set up an awesome camp site next to the creek beyond Tee Pees. Gather wood for fire and everything....

I will be back! - from TripAdvisor.com

I have vacationed at Turner Falls twice since coming across it online last year. Once was in the spring and the other in the fall. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous both times. The Falls, the caves...everything was wonderful. We were able to watch the wildlife (deer, turkey raccoons etc) which was very enjoyable. We stayed in the one of the teepees which was just wonderful. They are located right next to the big creek and you can hear the...

Such a shame... - from TripAdvisor.com
Just got back from Turner Falls today. We stayed two nights in Shelter 5.
I think the money you pay here is not worth what you get..
I thought the shelters were going to be horrible..they were not that bad at all. It was kinda like a huge shed with lattice & mesh windows on a concrete slab. There were 3-4 electric outlets inside and a place outside for a water hose. There were 4 twin size beds (that we didn't sleep on) and two picnic...

Avoid Holidays-Horribly Overcrowded! - from TripAdvisor.com
Never go to Turner Falls on a Holiday!
We went over Memorial Day 2008 . We had booked a shelter for the 2 night minimum. By the end of the day there were about 15,000 people at the park. People were everywhere! There are no assigned spaces at all, even if you have booked a shelter like we did. Our picnic table, parking spot, and firepit were commandeered by tent campers while we were swimming. Literally all we had for space was the shelter...

WOW ! Great Place to take the Family - from TripAdvisor.com
I didn't actually stay the night here, I came to Turner Falls to get some footage for a training film I was working on. I did notice that the park was very clean and offered Cabins to stay in. The Park also had a place to do laundry and a public shower. The Park has places to Sleep, Eat, Swim, Horse Back Riding, Trails for hiking, First Aid Building, Gift Shop and its own Park Security. The Falls were just amazing. After I came home and posted...

My favorite camping spot - from TripAdvisor.com
Hidden in the mountains of Davis, Oklahoma, is Turner Falls Park. Whether its during the Fall, or the Summer, its a great place to take your family camping. We've been 3 times in the last 3 years, all during different times of the year. Even though Turner Falls has beautiful water falls and a sweet swimming hole, my favorite time of the year to go is in the Fall when the trees are turning. Its beautiful, quiet, usually no burn ban during that...

Beautiful Park ruined by too many rude tourists! - from TripAdvisor.com
It is/was the most beautiful park anywhere around, but too many rude tourists throwing trash about made it look bad. I don't see how the employees could possibly keep up with the many (1000-2000) tourists there over a normal summer weekend and many more (5000 maybe) on Holiday weekends like Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. I saw many very rude tourists talking to the employees like slaves and treating them like more trash, complaining,...

A Park Lost - from TripAdvisor.com
I didn't recognize the place from my last visit 32 years ago, other than the falls. A lot of bad management decisions must have occurred since then: 1) Our vision is to maximize profits and change the natural setting into a commercialized second rate water amusement park that is poorly managed; 2) Let's build a cheesy yet unsightly concrete dam to enlarge the natural pool to the size of several Olympic swimming pools then add a sandy beach to...

Way too crowded - from TripAdvisor.com

My family and I just returned from a weekend at Turner Falls. We arrived at our room Friday afternoon. We stayed at the Turner Falls Inn. They have cabins and rooms. We rented a room because at the time I reserved, it was the only thing open. The room was okay other than a scorpion problem. There are also no kitchen utensils provided at this place so you better bring anything you'll possibly need. Also, if you're going to this place with small...

Pretty Park - from TripAdvisor.com
We went off season just for the day... It did seem quite commercial.
It was an attractive setting, the water was lovely and clear... however I would say with a beautiful natural setting like this it does spoil it when they've added concrete bridges and metal handrails...
Next time... build things that are in keeping with the parks natural surroundings.
