I've been coming to Bryson City for eons, starting way back in the early 70s. I've stayed at several campgrounds and motels in the area and find the Ridge Top to be best, overall. The rooms are nice (not rundown at all), the view magnificent; add to this some very good television choices, excellent wireless internet and some easy going, very accommodating management, and you can't miss. The rates are among the most reasonably I have seen in the area.

Ridge Top Motel & Campground in Bryson City, NC is the best value in the area.
Ownership is a great young couple that continue to make upgrades to this quaint 50s / 60s style motel. Each time I visit, there is some upgrade that makes the stay more pleasurable than the last time.
When I go to that area of Western North Carolina, it is the only place I consider staying. They always welcome kids / families and are pet friendly.
For the kids, the pool is great and the view over the town is beautiful.
Did I mention that it is a great value / affordable?
Give them a try and I promise you'll have a great experience.

A group of 12 of us stayed at the Ridge Top Motel in July '08 while touring the Smokies on motorcycles.
We found the motel very clean and the owners went out of their way to make our whole stay very enjoyable.
Ridge Top was in the center of everything to do while in the Smokies, and we picked a different direction to ride every day from there.
We will definately return to the Smokies, and when we do, we will stay at Ridge Top Motel. The price was great and our bikes were covered each nite. We didnt have to ask for a thing while there.
Kathy and Chad are part of our family now, and we highly recommend them to everyone.

We enjoyed our stay at this family operated motel. The owners are very nice, and will go out of there way to help you in any way. This was a short MC trip for four guys, we had two rooms next to each other. Nothing fancy here, just clean, quiet accommodations for a really fair price. Good location for motorcycles, many great roads are close by . Also, breakfast at Jimmie Macs cafe downtown was very good and reasonable.

Ridge Top is a wonderful campground, the bath house was very clean and the campsites were not cramped. We bought a camper in 2001 and leave it in this campground year 'round. The other campers that we met are great and the owner and his wife are super. We can't wait to go back and we visit two to three times a year. Convenient to everything.

We stayed at the motel, not the campground. This is not a new motel, but the view is great, the people are very friendly and accommodating, and it's very clean. Big pool and cable TV & WiFi that actually works. Our room had a fridge and microwave.
People staying in the smokeys or going to Cherokee should do themselves a favor and check this place out. They will find a relaxing atmosphere and save some money. The rates were very reasonable and we got a 3 day deal which was substantially less than the chains.
We sill stay there again.

Found it exactly as pictured on the Internet! People were friendly and you can't beat the rates! Some were seasonal, some for a day or two. Some have been coming there every summer for over 20 years. I would highly recommend Ridge Top Campground.

Booked campground 2 months prior to travel. When arrived faciities were not like pictured on the website. Campsites were extremely small cramped into the area., with numerous semi-permanent residents. This was more like a seasonal RV park than a campground. Bath house was not clean (nor had it been cleaned) and need some repair... Unusable. Staff/owners were very friendly though and assisted our group in finding other camping facilities.

It may not be new, but it's clean and the owners are friendly and helpful. It is close to attractions without being too close to the traffic and people. If you are like I am and just want a comfortable and clean place to crash in between adventures, this place is just right.

Upon entering Ridge Top Campground and Motel, we were so very pleased, especially the atmosphere. Everyone within earshot of the campground seemed extremely cordial and willing to help at whatever Kind of like family amongst family! It is so nice and peaceful and within a goats tail shake of getting anywhere! Will most certainly be back in the spring and bring others to stay and appreciate all this wonderful place has to offer! Besides, my Mother and Pops works on the Gsmrr and the are having the time of their life!

I was very surprised with the Ridge Top Motel. A good surprise. This is not a fancy hotel but a nice one anyway. It is family owned and the people are very nice. I received directions from the owner to make it back to Columbus and I cut 1 hour of time off my trip. I was also there for the Fourth of July. I was able to watch the fireworks across from the motel with a beautiful view of the Mountains. I will be staying here again if I ever go back. Also, to let you know they have a campground in the back of the motel but it was very quiet. Pool is great too.

We stayed at the Ridge Top Motel and Camp Grounds during our trip. It was close to many attractions and things to do. We loved it. The Motel is a family owned place. The people were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and the service was great. The area was quiet and and close to the attractions. We had a beautiful view of the Mountains. The rates are very reasonable. We will be going back. We highly recommend this Motel!
