Well I must say that I read some reviews from other campers who have stayed at this KOA in Asheville and I had my concerns before going up there. Upon arriving the checkout went fine and the attendants were pleasant and informative. We stayed at the KOA Asheville for the first time this September. We arrived after hours and were unable to check in that night. the next morning when i checked in the staff was rude, grumpy and unhelpful. I am a KOA employee and if i treated my customers the way that I was treated I would be fired!

We stayed on one of the lakes, in a Truck Camper. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing, no bad campers anywhere near us. We fished for a short time but didn't catch anything. We did see some real big large mouth Bass hauled out by others one going an easy 7lbs. I too heard the trains, but as the horns echoed off the foothills it was more peaceful than anything else. We stayed at this KOA for the first time on May 28, 2008. We arrived late after the office was closed but had reserved a RV Motorhome site from the KOA website. There is a rail line that runs parallel to the camp site and a highway. We were very tired from a long drive and about 11 or 12 am a train came through the area. This is a great campground if you like Asheville because it's close to Asheville. We brought my niece and nephew and they had a great time too. Employees were very friendly, bathrooms clean. We stayed our motorhome and we liked this place, would go back again.

We stayed in one of the one room kamp Kabin. The Kabin was nice and the heat worked great. Campground was clean, nice size. The bathhouse and restrooms were older ones. If you like the sounds of a train whistle at midnight and six in the morning this is the place for you. I can say one thing the staff was very nice and took time to answer questions.
