Too expensive - from TripAdvisor.com
|
|
The campground is very clean and well maintained but way too expensive. You are charged to use the amenities except for the pool. You shouldn't have too pay extra when you pay so much $$$ out. We choose to stay in our rig thinking we should save $$$$ by doing so. Well we learned that we would have saved money by renting a house. We had 2 adults and 3 kids. We were charged for the kids each. We travel with our Lab and was charged per day for the pet. Now to the security patrol within the campground- they monitor your every move almost to the point that it is a pain in the back side. I noticed that at the entrance to the campground TV monitors showing views of different areas of the campground. We travel with a tow vehicle and we were at our site unloading and then the security patrol showed up complaining to us while we were unloading and setting up camp. Don't get me wrong it is a nice place to stay just bring the armored truck.

Camp Hatteras - Waves, NC - from TripAdvisor.com
|
Ocean sites have tall dunes between the ocean and the park so you don't really have an ocean view. The Sound Sites have tall grass so you do not have a good view of sound, except for a few sites at the dock which are excellent. It is difficult to get one of the better sites.
The park has high rates and also charge for each pet. By the time all the charges are added, you're paying over $60.00 a night in a non-premier site.
The park has cement pads and patio with paved drive and paved streets. Very nice and easy to level your RV. The bath house and laundry is very clean.
The park employees seem to do a good job. However, the office staff needs a little more training on dealing with people and the how to's in the office.

Over priced campground - from TripAdvisor.com
|
This is a huge campground with ocean sites on one side of the road and sound sites on the other. However, there are tall dunes between the ocean and the park so you don't really have an ocean view.
The park has high rates and also charge for each pet. This I don't understand because our pets stayed in our rig and when outside we always picked up after them. I really don't understand the reasoning behind charging for each pet. Also, like many other parks you're also charged for cable. By the time all the charges are added, you're paying over $60.00 for one night. They do not have weekly rates.
The park has cement pads and patio with paved drive and paved streets. Very nice and easy to level the rig. The bath house and laundry is very clean. They also have free Wi-Fi but seems to have a little trouble keeping it going.
The park employs quite a few work campers who seem to do a good job. The only improvement I would suggest is that the work campers in the office need a little more training on dealing with people. Being friendly and helpful to people as they arrive is a plus in my book, and I feel some of the work campers in this park need a little more training in this area.
