A great place to stay. Reasonable rates, clean, and a great staff. The staff seem to really be interested if you enjoy your stay and do everything they can to ensure that you do. Would recommend to any one that wants to relax and be around some super friendly people.

We stayed at Applecover Inn with another couple in June and loved it. This is a very clean hotel and the owners are the most hospitable around.

We enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch in the evenings and can't wait to go back in September.

My wife and I arrived in Maggie Valley along with another couple on our motorcycles late one evening not realizing there was a motorcycle rally in town. Just as we were leaving to ride up the road to the next town, we decided to stop in at Applecover Inn to see if they had any rooms. They only had one ready to go. They asked if we could wait for an hour while they cleaned a second room for us that somebody had vacated earlier in the day. We did.

We sat out front and had a few adult beverages as night fell and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There are many restaurants within walking distance and Joey's Pancakes (breakfast) is only a couple hundred yards away.

The rooms were very small, but the prices were reasonable and everything was clean. The owners were very nice and helpful. We would stay here again.

1.0 stars1.0 stars1.0 stars1.0 stars1.0 stars Cold shower and no-show owners - from TripAdvisor.com
We stayed at the Applecover Inn in April 2005. When we arrived at the motel, the owners were not there and someone had our parking space so we had no place to park. They advertise that the rooms are so clean, well don't look under the bed. The second day there we had no hot water to take a shower. The owner said that it was because so many people had taken showers and we would have to wait until the water heated to take a shower. You would think that a motel with a 4 1/2 star rating would have enough hot water for everyone to take a shower. The only times we saw the owners was the one day when we had no hot water and on the fourth day just before we were ready to check out. They made sure they showed up to get their payment for the room. We will never stay at the Applecover Inn again and waste our money on such a bad place.

I love staying at Applecover Inn in Maggie Valley. I travel with my pets, Mystique & Buddy Boy, who are also welcome at the Inn. It is very difficult to find places that accept pets at reasonable rates and without ridiculous restrictions (ex.- can't leave pet in room unattended). Mystique is diabetic so I have to have a refrigerator for her insulin, which is available in some rooms. The owners are great and very accommodating. The Inn is close to everything on the main strip. The rooms are kept very clean. Great, affordable place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Applecover Inn this spring and I have never been so impressed with a family owned and operated motel. The floors were clean enough to eat off of and the beds were extremely comfortable. We loved it so much that we just stayed for another week with them to enjoy the autumn in the mountains. Wonderful place, wonderful people, you won't be sorry!

5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars Better Than The Hilton - from TripAdvisor.com
I recently stayed at the Hilton at Myrtle Beach, SC back in the spring. I have since stayed at Applecover Inn in Maggie Valley, NC. There is no comparison. Applecover Inn was one of the nicest and cleanest places I have ever stayed in. It was so much nicer than the Hilton and the Hilton was a fairly new hotel. The service we received was excellent. The owners, Derrick and family, could not have given us any more hospitality had we been their own family. This is definitely a "must stay" at place when you visit Maggie Valley and surrounding area. They also have an RV park. We had our own front porch and parking place. I cannot say enough good things about Applecover Inn. Thank you again for a very pleasant stay.

We have stayed here several years now on the 4th of July weekend. The hospitality is great. We recommended it to several in our car club for the Antique Car Show. It's like sitting on your own front porch rocking and taking in the beauty of the surrounding mountains only without the hassles and demands of home. It is just a laid back country type establishment.

We have stayed at Applecover Inn for the past 8 years. From the very first time, we knew that this was OUR motel. Derrick and Amy are so friendly and helpful. In fact, we speak of them as "our friends" when recommending the motel to everyone who will listen! The rooms are so clean and the beds are so comfortable. We feel like we are at our "home away from home." We have already made our reservations for this year and will continue to visit the Applecover Inn as long as Derrick and Amy will have us.

There is no better place to stay in the Smokies.

We have stayed at the Applecover Inn the last 3 times we have visited Maggie. The rooms are extremely clean and the owners are friendly and very accommodating! Also, the rates are very reasonable which makes it easier to stay in the Valley longer which is definitely a plus for us!
