Started out rough- ended up great! - from TripAdvisor.com

When our group of 2 families first arrived, we were very disappointed by the placement of the two Kamping Kabins that they placed us in. We were right in the front of the park, directly across from the office, and alongside a large RV. Cars were driving right by the site, as well as kids on bikes- yuck! We felt as if we had NO privacy at this location and were not sure the location would work out. After taking a "tour" of the campsite, we noticed that the two larger Kottages were available. After a little pleading with the owner, we were able to pay the extra $ to upgrade- what a great idea! The Kottages were away from other campers, literally placed in the middle of the woods, alongside the very nice Nature Trail. All the Kabins/Kottages back there have their own "facilities", so no crowds at night. It was somewhat muddy in the campground, due to rain the day before we arrived, but the owners did a nice job keeping up with the muck on the floors. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool, fishing pond (catch and release), playground, and arcade! The adults enjoyed the larger size of the Kottages, the privacy, and the campfires! We would highly recommend the BACK Kabins (not the front ones- yuck for location!) and especially the Kottages- spring for the upgrade- it's worth it!

The campground was very nice and well maintained, except for the bathrooms which were not the greatest. The owners, especially the woman there, were not friendly and actually quite rude at times. Made our stay less than enjoyable.

The bathrooms were filthy when we arrived toilet paper and dead insects on the faucets and there were signs on the doors that told us to inform the management if the bathrooms needed attention. We did as the signs instructed and were met with utter defensiveness. In fact, though we had just arrived the management accused us of messing up the bathrooms. So after that conversation, it was difficult to understand how some perceive these guys as "friendly." Be ready for burning hot cabins and an overall trashy yet corporate vibe at this KOA. Te place was otherwise alright, but far from idyllic.

This is my 2nd year camping at KOA Saugerties/Woodstock and I love it there. This year I traveled with 26 members of my family and we booked the kamping kabins (everything is spelled with a K). Wow, what an experience. The Kabins are real small but cute; they have a full size bed and a bunk bed (Sleeps 4 people). The Kabins are equipped with electricity and even have outlets. You can bring a TV and have access to cable channels. The kabins also have a porch with a swing. The fire pit, grill and picnic table are located right outside of the kabin. The bathroom/showers are clean and close by. Some of the activities include a pool, gameroom, fishing pond, mini golf and mini bikes. There are other activities available outside the camp. This trip was fabulous you can bet that we will be returning next year. See ya there next July.

Saugerties/Woodstock KOA is a great little campground with a very friendly staff. Stayed here in a motorhome and will probably be back again next year.
