The owner at Sundance charged our 2 families for 2 sites then had us set up on one site saying we were being charged for the number of tents. When my husband asked if we could have the site next to where the owner showed where our site was as it had more grass for the kids to play the owner said no. "It's my way or the highway" No one ever occupied that site while we were there. There were only 2 bathrooms with one toilet each available for all of the campsites. The bathrooms were very dirty and were not cleaned at all during our stay. Only one shower worked. Piles of boards with nails laying in heaps right next to the steps that led to the bathroom area as a old refrigerator, mattress and box spring, rotted benches on the sites. Our families left after 2 days but paid for 4 days each.

Worst Place in Ruidoso - from TripAdvisor.com

Sundance RV has a lot of false ads. My wife & I and another couple made reservations for our 5th wheels on July 15,07. We asked for sites 6 & 7 cause we were to be able to get Direct TV. We asked for receivers and were told he had none. I politely informed him that if you advertise direct TV he should receivers on hand. I was told by host to not give him a hard time. We exchanged words and he said to go to the office for a full refund of our stay. Needless to say this caused a lot of problems since it was late in the afternoon and was hard to find another place. We did find one at Pine Ridge RV and were treated like Kings. Sundance has a very unfriendly staff and I would never recommend it to anyone.

Good Tent Camping - from TripAdvisor.com

This park has a very nice setup for tent camping, you are away from the RVs with a bubbling creek when there is water running separating you from the RVs. The site was clean and the owner is a pleasant person. The site was clean and level for a big cabin tent to be put up. The restroom and shower was clean and will kept. It is only a 5 min drive to Lake Bonito where there is some decent trout fishing. The only thing that could improve the site would be adding another restroom and shower point, closer to the tent sites seeing how the only one is on the other side of the park.

The air is crisp and clear. The view are beautiful in September. Everything is green and the temp is perfect. Great fishing at Bonito Lake just up the hill. The hospitality is better than home.

Not worth the time or money - from TripAdvisor.com

We visited Ruidoso for the first time over the Memorial Day Weekend. Me and my family traveled from Colorado Springs, which is about 500 miles. We had booked a RV rental from the campground. What we were told and what we got were two different things. For starters, the first night we had no hot water in the RV. The second night we had no water at all, and the third night we had no lights. I was very disappointed with the overall experience. The way Sundance is advertised, it sounds like a wonderful place, but in fact it is not that great. I wish we would have stayed at a different place. To top things off, they advertise public showers and all they are is a building with a stool and one shower for all the campers to use.
