5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars Best camping ever! - from TripAdvisor.com
We wanted to visit the New Jersey Shores, but found the cost of hotels was very high. So we switched gears and decided to camp instead. Since there are so many campgrounds, it was tough to decide which one to try. What an absolutely great find! And for only $400/week.

Campsite: We had originally planned to stay six nights, but had such a great time we stayed a seventh night. We brought our tent, and got a site close to the front of the park, and close to the washrooms and showers. The site was great, with lots of trees. It included a picnic table and fire ring, plus electricity, water, cable TV and WiFi. What more could you ask for in a campsite.
Most of our neighbors were seaonal renters, with huge trailers or mobile homes. I was amazed by the amount of work that people put into their campsites.

Office/security: Check-in was very fast, and the office was very modern and organized. I liked that they gave us a card with a bar code on it, to use at the gate upon entry. There is also a guard posted 24/7 at the gate, so you know the place is secure.

Restaurant: It was awesome having a little restaurant within walking distance of our site, since we didn't plan on doing any cooking. In the morning we could walk over and order bacon & eggs and enjoy it at the site. They also had ice cream, which was a big hit.

Pool: There were lifeguards at the pool, and every day we saw people cleaning off the many lounge chairs. We swam once in the pool, and it was quite refreshing (i.e. cool). The pool is huge with room for everyone. It was never crowded while were there.

Tram ride: We took the tram ride around the campground one night, and got to see a lot of other sites. Kids really enjoyed the ride and are able to get on, ride to the store, and get back on to ride back to their site.

Amenities: There are lots of things to do here. There is a large man made lake, pond for fishing, games room for the kids, laundry room, and a club house that showed movies every night.

Washrooms: I could not believe how clean the washrooms were. I know they were cleaned at least every morning. The showers were great. For 25 cents you can shower for a long time. There were never any line-ups for the showers. I assume that's because most people have their own trailers / mobile homes.

Halloween: The best part of the trip was Halloween in August, on Saturday night. There were lots of decorations at many, many sites. And over 1,000 kids went out trick-or-treating. The costumes and decorations were simply amazing. One of the campsites even had a haunted house, graveyard, casket with skeleton, etc. It was such fun to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. Afterward they gave out trophies for costumes, and then had a dance at the clubhouse.

Bottom line: This is a great campground, and I hope to come back again next year. Maybe we'll come for Christmas in July!

5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars OV Resort Good Beach Vacation and More - from TripAdvisor.com
I took my 3 children to Ocean View Resort Campground two times this summer. The first we camped in a tent and were pleasantly surprised so when we had more time, we rented a cabin and came back for a longer stay.

I was surprised by the nice pool, lake and all the activities at the campground. The down side was we wanted to spend time at the campground not just at the beach. The kids enjoyed the "old fashioned" miniature golf, tram rides and shuffleboard by the lake. We still need to fish in the pond but we ran out of time.

My children made friends easily here which made it even more enjoyable. Very nice people. The bath houses were clean and never full you do need a quarter for the shower.

This campground I would say is probably 70% seasonal RV units, 20% weekly RV and 10% tents. All sites have full hook ups and cable tv - which felt a little odd with a tent! We look forward to going back.

This was our first trip to southern Jersey shores in our RVs; I spent my summers growing up in Ocean City and that was 40+ yrs ago! This campground is perfect for families. Everything about the campground was top notch. Enjoyed the pool, lake, tram, and all that was offered. Bathrooms were very clean (our daughter used them instead of her travel trailer bathroom). Going back summer of 2008; and taking more family with us in their campers and have family that will be renting a cabin. Will give a report upon return of that trip. Enjoy - if you enjoy camping, you will love Ocean View Resort.

5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars Ocean View is the greatest! - from TripAdvisor.com
I have been camping at Ocean View since I was 2 years old. Needless to say that was over 20 years ago and I would still consider this one of the best places to camp on the east coast.

I would recommend anyone looking for camp grounds in South Jersey to give Ocean View a try. They have cabins and trailer rentals if you don't have a camper/tent. If you do have a camper or tent the campsites are well-equipped with electricity, hot water, and sewer drainage.

My family has camped here for over 20 years and we have never been disappointed.

Keep up the good work!

5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars Best resort campground next to Disney's - from TripAdvisor.com
We visit Ocean View Campground every year. Sites are beautiful and wooded. The amenities are wonderful. The lake is very clear and a huge pool. The train ride is tradition for our family every night, They have over 1100 sites and everyone lites up and decorates their sites mainly with ocean decor. Even the cabin and tent sites get into the spirit! We love to visit Ocean City NJ boardwalk, it's excellent for little kids and family (I would say the best one around) it takes us about 15-20 minutes to get there straight up route 9. Wildwood is a zoo, too much crime and drunks walking around everywhere. Do not feel safe with my kids there and I am a blackbelt. Police have told us there are stabbings nightly. Sea Isle City is beautiful to swim at the beach and well guarded, it's right across the bay bridge from the campground. I like to be isolated when I'm camping, feel like I'm really somewhere and this place is it. You can be indulged with swimming at the lake for the day, eating lunch served at the pavilion there, stopping off at the pool for another quick swim, have a crableg picnic back at your campsight (sold at local grocer up the road) play a game of mini golf, catch a movie at their activity center or a dance on weekends, then take a train ride followed by good ice cream at the restaurant area! So much to do! Love it! The only other place nicer we've been to is Disney's campground in Florida.

4.0 stars4.0 stars4.0 stars4.0 stars4.0 stars A Nice Camping Experience - from TripAdvisor.com
Ocean View Campground is located in Ocean View New Jersey, right off of Route 9. It's location is great because of it's proximity to many southern NJ attractions from Cape May to Atlantic City.

Campsites: They are for the most part a pretty decent size. We are tenters, but there were almost all gigantic campers at this place. So if you have one, chances are you're going to be able to fit it. They are also able to accommodate RVs and buses that require a pull through. I would say this campground caters to those who have large campers. All sites are shaded. Privacy varies from complete to barely.

Bathrooms/bathhouses: There are bath houses all over the place (with bathrooms attached). They are very clean, you will be impressed. Showers are .25$/5minutes. I would say that worst case scenario you will have to walk 300 feet to a bath house.

Pool: The pool is roughly 100'x48'. There is a lifeguard on duty during open hours, and there is also a kiddie pool in a shaded area. The pool was not overly crowded, in fact there were fewer than 10 people in the pool all day until maybe 5 or 6pm when people would come back from the beach. There are plenty of chairs to go around. Loved the pool.

I didn't use the lake, but we looked at it. It's not real big, and half of it is used for paddle boats, the other half for swimming. It's surrounded by a sandy beach, and great modern playground for the kids, and has a dining pavilion and snack bar.

There is also a camp store, an ice cream shop and deck, and a cafe. Ice and firewood are available on site, but it's really pricey.

The tram car really is fun, if you have kids, you'll be on it more than once. And honestly, it's pretty cool. I used the time to scope out nice sites to reserve for next year.

All sites have sewer, water and electric.

I travel the Jersey Shore's every year. I love the outdoors, adventure, relaxation and fun. Ocean View Campgounds offers all of that and more. Some reason's why Ocean View is the best campground on the Jersey Shore
1. It is 4 miles from Sea Isle City and about 15mi from Wildwood
2. They have a huge pool and filtered lake where you can swim or rent paddleboats. The lake also has a snackbar with picnic tables
3. They have a fishing pond
4. At night, they have tramcar rides around the campground, which are very fun for kids and adults
5. They have an arcade and an activity pavilion where they show movies
6. They have a mini-golf course
7. All of their sites are shaded. I have been to some campgrounds where your site consists of your tent on some grass facing the highway. The ultimate con at all campgrounds is a site behind "the tree line". Never fall for this type of site. They will take you to a patch of grass often facing the road. The sun is brutal and the only reminder that you are even at a campground as opposed to, say a parking lot, is the line of bare trees planted behind you.I love Ocean View b/c they do not even offer these type of sites.
8. Ocean View is clean, not overcrowded, and everyone is friendly.
