My wife and I were looking to stay at this camp ground and drive there to check it out. But after being treated in the worst way by the worlds rudest woman I can only express my relief and say we are luckier than those who did. We are decent and polite people but were talked to like errant children as we were told how we would behave with a "the first thing you have to learn ..." When I told her I thought she was being rude we were asked to... Read More >>

We've been here since May 15. We absolutely love it here. It's quiet, clean, and personel in the office are very nice people. I can't believe these reviews. They have rules for reasons. I've never seen such a clean campsite. If you have children they carefully watch out for them. Also Quiet time is great at 10:00 p.m. for the elderly and for putting babies to bed. Also they have a nice pool that stays clean because you shower before entering.... Read More >>

The campground is surrounded by marshland and the bugs are terrible! Some sites have power lines running above them. Bathrooms leave much to be desired. Pool area only has a port-a-john- that's awful! This is more like a retirement community than a campground. Most of the sites are occupied by seasonal renters in large units. There are more "do this/don't do this" signs than I have ever seen in my life. We have been camping for 15 years and this... Read More >>

My family and I just returned from a 5 day camping trip to Tidewater Campground. Our first impression was very well maintained grounds. The lady in the office was nice, but not extremely friendly. We had read the reviews and their website prior to visiting, so we well aware of all the rules. We were driving to our campsite @ 3 mph, and were actually waved to by a staff person, as to say "your going to fast". The campsite was very, very wooded,... Read More >>

Rules are fine. They are actually expected. However, at tidewater, they feel the need to enforce their rules with yelling, rudeness and threats. As far as I am concerned, I am an extremely polite person and follow all rules, but I have never felt so angry after dealing with their staff. As other reviews have stated, the speed limit is strictly enforced. No problem with that, but there was a serious problem after I was screamed at over an... Read More >>

after staying at the Tidewater Campground twice (July 2006,2007) I am disappointed to read the negative reviews given for this campground. Having been to many campgrounds over the years, I think this is the first campground where I came home after a week's stay "rested!" Yes I will agree there are rules, but in my opinion this is the first campground where people actually abide by the rules! This makes for an enjoyable, safe stay. If you are... Read More >>

I was absolutely horrified when I stopped in to see my family at Tidewater Campground. In stopping into the front desk to inquire the site number of my family who had traveled a great distance to camp near us, the lady barked that if I wanted to see my family it was $5 per person and I had to be out of there by 9pm. I had stopped in after work and did not arrive until 8pm with my wife, so this gave me an hour. I asked if I could stay just until... Read More >>
