Friendly People and Awesome Cabin! - from TripAdvisor.com

My family and another family of 4 went to Eminence in search of peace and quiet and some good quality family time. We found just that. We stayed in the newer cabin they call the lodge and it was beautiful. This is a log cabin with a nice big deck where we ate our meals. The deck is low to the ground so it was a great place for our young travelers to play. There were two bedrooms with comfortable king size beds and a sleeping loft which the kids absolutely loved. Everything you need is at the cabin. They have a towel exchange every day and they come and get your trash. There is a gas grill outside and fire ring. I almost forgot, there is also a hot tub! The area is beautiful. We did not float because we had young kids with us, but the resort can organize all of this for you. The staff at the resort gave us tips on what to do with young kids and they were right. Rocky Falls was an awesome sight. I would definately suggest visiting Rocky Falls if you go to Eminence. This is a rock formation "shut-in" with a lovely swimming hole at the bottom. Fun, Fun, Fun!

Stinky place to stay - from TripAdvisor.com

We stayed in a cottage with eminence, canoes. We made reservations here because we could not find too many available places and we were doing this at the last minute. The place was $175.00 a night plus $20 extra per adult. It was a run down old smoke filled cabin. Everything smelled like smoke. We had booked two nights but our family could not handle it. We did our canoe trip on the river, which we loved, and headed up to St. Louis the next night. The place was worth $25.00 a night. Not sure what this eminence canoes and cabins think they have here - definitely not a five star hotel! We do a lot of traveling and were amazed at what a rip off this place was. We will head back to the current river but not to this outfit.

Eminence Canoes & cottages are not custoemr friendly - from TripAdvisor.com

Some friends and I went on an inner tube float trip at the last minute, and we contacted this place. We asked for a cabin, but they only had a room...so we took it. When we arrived, they told us a cabin came open, and we were thrilled. We walked in to check it out and something smelled fishy...literally. We thought it was the old trash can and moved it out. So, we took the room, being excited about the extra space and having a kitchen to cook in to save money. But, when we opened the fridge...whew! it stank like rotten fish, and we could not use it. No worry...we had brought plenty of coolers. But,we thought the owners would be apologetic and give us a discount and some free ice. They acted like it was our fault we didn't know the fridge was stinky. They reluctantly gave us $20 off a night, and no free ice. Not much customer service. Plus, they charged us $1.50 each extra for rope to tie our tubes together. On top of the $14.50 we already were paying. A nickel & dime operation. Not going back to that place, but will go back down to Eminence for an inner tube float trip.
