Humilated
I was at this KOA one Saturday enjoying pool which also has a waterslide next to it. I was sitting next to the fence which divided the slide and pool. Many kids were on slide. Lifeguard watching every move they made. owner comes out screaming at people's children like a raving maniac about not going down slide head first which I had witnessed many kids doing. This lady went crazy. If someone would have talked to my children the way this lady did (they couldn't have been 6 or 7 year old little boys ... trembling with fear from this lady). The mother and father got very angry and left with the kids. This family did nothing wrong I was there the entire time and the owner still tried to deny that she did this when the parents confronted her. There were probably 25 to 30 witnesses so I hope more people will review this owner of this KOA. We will never return there and the other campers said they will not either after seeing her treat children this way. I was sitting there the kids did nothing wrong.

Not a good choice
The people at Martin Lake Resort are very nice until they swindle you into becoming a member, all they want is your money and don't care how disrespectful they are to you. They claim to be a "resort" but it is nothing more than a glorified trailer park with full time residents and run down trailers. Think twice before visiting this place.

Convenient
Stayed there while working in the area for several months.Owners are real nice, everything you need is right there. I liked that they had cable & wifi and the store was there too. I would go back there to stay if I have work in Hattiesburg again. I would recommend it for adults that want quiet and convenience, but not for kids or a family looking for a weekend getaway because theres no playground or pool. My wife liked that there was a tanning salon and it wasn't far from the mall.

A Perfect Family Day
If you're looking for Okatoma Canoe Rentals to float Mississippi's only white water, then I cannot recommend Seminary Canoe Rental more highly. A family owned business, they are located right on the banks of the Okatoma. My trip included my mother, older brother and sister, several nieces and nephews, my wife and children. We went down for a weekday trip in canoes and it could not have been more perfect. In fact, we didn't even run into one other person the entire route. The Class I rapids were a bit of a challenge for those who had never done any white water. Rope swings along the way and sandy beaches made great stops along the way. Perhaps the best part is at the end of the trip, you pull out you canoe (or kayak) and you have hot showers and clean restrooms waiting and you're car is right there. No waiting for pick-ups. In addition to canoe rentals, Seminary Canoe Rental also offers cabins, RV hook-ups and tent sites, all right on the banks of the Okatoma.

Cabins need help!
Booked cabin #12 at Percy Quin State Park over a year ago. Arrived a little early for check in, noticed trash was still on front porch. After checking in later in the day, trash was still there although we had been told the cabin had been "cleaned" (contents were disgusting to say the least). Upon entering cabin the smell of heavy smoke was immediately evident. It wasn't cigarette smoke but fireplace smoke. The furniture was stained so badly we didn't sit on it. During the night, I went into the kitchen for water and was greeted by a kitchen full of small roaches. Additionally, be prepared to pay extra for anything you do even though you are a paying guest. Unassisted Boat Launch $11, Day fishing license $10.50, Tennis $3.00 per person. Cabin $70/night. The park itself is beautiful and well maintained but it looks like they could use some of the profit to improve the cabins. No excuses for roaches, stained furniture and smoke. Will not be back!
