Just spent a very long, relaxing weekend at Prairie Island Campground and loved it! Friendly campers and clean, well kept sites. We tent, but still stay in the electric sites that most trailers and motor homes stay at. We had an amazing view of the river because we booked a site near the water. There was plenty of space to spread out, as each site is nicely sized. Plenty of trees to shade us and the sandy beach area was just over the hill where we were able to keep our boat each night. So we could be in the water in one minute and at our site relaxing the next. For the family, couple or older folks, PIC offers something for everyone. Plenty of safe walking areas, play areas for the kids, dogs are allowed and there are hundreds of miles of fishing for the enthusiast of it as we are. Also cool was the trip up the river where we got to use the lock system (something i had never done) and we were close enough to town to get ice and groceries easily... This may have become my new 2nd home to get away to...A+ to PIC

We've been staying at Prairie Island Campground for just about 20 years - and the Campground is always making efforts to improve on what it has to offer. I think our kids love it the best - with all the activities for kids - the scavenger hunts, weekend night movies, and other fun adventures. There's a playground, basketball, miniature golf and boat rental too. It's a safe place for kids to have fun and being right on the river gives us easy access to fishing too. We've held many a family reunion here - it's just an awesome camping community and just minutes away from Winona and other recreational opportunities too. Russ and rest go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one - check it out for yourself!

We have spent many, many years of camping there and have found employees and ownership to always be accommodating to our needs. Floods have come and gone, but they have always managed to have it cleaned up and ready for the camping season to begin. Looking forward to coming again.

We recently stayed at Prairie Island Campground for a family reunion,
the conditions were horrible! The showers were dirty, water was
freezing cold, all through the day. I did not see any monitoring of the
park at all, the neighboring campers were rude , loud and continued to
be just as loud after the designated quite time started. We travel to
Minnesota ever 3 years and prairie Island was a great place to camp in
the past. The city of Winona needs to take a long look at what is going
on in this park! I would never stay there again!
