Camping outside Washington - from TripAdvisor.com
What a great place to stay... I was very nervous about staying in an RV park when I was tent camping. To say, I was pleasantly surprised is very accurate compared to our previous experience with an RV park. Cherry Hill had its own tent loop. We had trees to help keep the summer heat out of the area and space. We did not feel like we were on top of one another. The bathrooms/showers were clean. The staff were very helpful with getting around town directions and helpful hints. It's a great place to stay that is affordable and just outside of Washington. We would definately consider going back there.

Big Campground - close to DC - from TripAdvisor.com
We just got back from a 5 day trip to DC and stayed in a fifth wheel at Cherry Hill Park. Overall, the campground was great. We were shocked at how large the property was. The lot we were given didn't allow us to put our awning up (despite asking for a lot with minimal trees), but we made do. We also had a problem with blowing the circuit (30amp) multiple times. We came to the conclusion that it was old and needed some replacing.
I was very pleased with the bathhouse and showers. It was always clean and there were plenty of stalls which I never had to wait.
There is a bus that takes you directly from the campground to the metro. However, after the first day, we realized it is much easier, faster, and cheaper to drive directly to the metro station (on Saturdays and Sundays parking is free!) Also, Cherry Hill is so close to DC - it is located really close to the University of Maryland. The campground is also located down the street from grocery stores and home depot. Therefore, to avoid the markup for simple things from the Campground store, it was a breeze to zip right up to the grocery store to pick up ice and other misc items.
The only complaint I really have about Cherry Hill is that the wireless internet was VERY SLOW. I had tried on several occasions to check email and I eventually gave up despite having a full strength signal. I believe with all the traffic on their wireless internet connection, it made it worse than dial-up.
Overall, if you are looking for a close, clean, and convenient campground, I would definitely recommend Cherry Hill.

Excellent Customer Service - from TripAdvisor.com
Our very first RV trip, our very first RV park. Not knowing what to expect I was blown away by the customer service. They provided me with all the information I needed from campground site specific to how to navigate the Metro. They even carried the tickets I needed. Laundry facilities were great and the conference facility they were located in was clean and updated. Bathrooms were clean but a little dated and the movie night was a miss. We waited over half an hour then left because it hadn't started yet. That being said we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Cherry Hill again. Overall very clean and exceptional customer service.

Very Friendly - from TripAdvisor.com
We traveled down the east coast on our first visit to the USA and on our first RV trip. I was not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Cherry Hill. The front desk staff were very helpful and provided us with lots of information and vouchers for when visiting Washington DC. The campsite shop was one of the best that we came across due to it being well equipped with all of the essentials. The grounds were clean and had excellent facilities. There were two pools, which we never used but looked clean. They also held exercise classes such as yoga etc, but never got round to attending one of these. The restaurant was excellent value for money, and cooks an excellent breakfast. There was excellent transport links into the city and the staff are more than happy to help you out with instructions. The only downside was that the campsite was quite a way out from the city. It took approx an hour to get into Washington DC, but underground and buses run until quite late. The toilet and shower blocks were clean, but I found them quite spooky at night due to anyone having access and the campsite being open!

Awesome! - from TripAdvisor.com

The front desk staff was very friendly. The Cherry Hill Park campground was very clean and the bathrooms were always clean during our stay. They have two pools, one designed for kids and the other for adults... they close the pools at 10pm which is a big plus. They have a restaurant, game room, laundry, lounge with big screen tv. They also play movies at their outdoor theater and they also sell candies, popcorn, etc at the theatre. We definitively had a great time and would recommend. Also, all the entertainment is located in one single building.

Great campground - from TripAdvisor.com
We stayed at Cherry Hill for almost a week while sightseeing in Washington DC. We were also celebrating our anniversary. We found the campground to be very nice and well maintained. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The sights were a little small. The camp store was very nice and was well stocked. We were too tired at the end of each day to enjoy the pool or other facilities. I highly recommend the metro system in DC. A map and weekly subway pass will be your best companions during your stay. The bus will pick you up at the campground, but we found ourselves waiting for long periods at the metro station. You may want to buy a smart pass and drive to the Greenbelt Station, skipping the bus. The bath houses were exceptionally clean and required a pass code to enter. A pass code is also needed to enter the main gate to the campground. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay here and will probably stay here again in the future.

Good campground great location - from TripAdvisor.com
Cherry Hill Campground in College Park MD was a good place to stay. While I was too tired at the end of the day to really enjoy it, the kids loved going to the big heated pool and hot tub every evening while I cooked dinner. The pools were not all open because it was too early in the season. The area was very clean. I think we saw the mini golf located at the front of the office but it looked more like a very small flower garden that had not been cleaned out for summer yet. If this was the course it looked fine for very small children but that is about it. I may be mistaken and may have missed the real course since I did not do much walking around the campground. In the evenings there is a movie playing on both an indoor and outdoor screen. The night we went to do laundry they were playing march of the penguin. All sites have cable hookups the sites are very small and close together (about 12' between campers (it kind of reminded us of going to a NASCAR race camping lot) but clean and level and easy to back into. We did not spend much time there so we were not bothered by this coziness. There were mostly big rvs there so the bathhouses were not very busy in the morning. I like to take long showers so I usually don;t shower in the camper. A good thing is the showers are free. Not the case at all campgrounds. The bath houses were fairly clean but not the cleanest I have seen. Toilet seats had dried lint and hair like a dirty cloth was used to clean them. But I have also been in some campground bathrooms where too much bleach was used without rinsing and my clothes were ruined. (at 7am they were kind of old clean not freshly cleaned. We never saw the maintenance people so the bathhouse was never closed when I went to use it.) The campground store had just about everything you would want or need in it at fair prices. From Ben and Jerry's to camper parts. They allow pets and have a dog walking service that we did not use but saw frequently. The metro bus stops right in the entrance of the campground with a ticket office where you can buy bus tokens and metro fare cards from a live person. The ride on the bus brings you to the College Park Station on the weekdays and greenbelt station on Sundays. Then you get on the greenline and can travel everywhere. I have to say that marie, a woman in the office, was not just unhelpful she was unhappy. She refused to help us retrieve the credit card number we had used to check in so that we could cancel our card after our wallet was lost on the metro bus. She was very rude not only with her attitude but her speech. A few minutes later I made the trip back and after I insisted she go look for the number and she found it rather quickly but not before she called the owner and put me on the phone with him.
