The Honeymooners
This was our Honeymoon. We had a great time and really liked the Chalet trailers at Red Shoes RV Park. They are private and very cozy. The Chalet we stayed in was next to the pond and the sunsets were beautiful. The staff are very nice and the local people are very friendly. When we left I forgot the cell phone chargers and the Resort mailed them to me. Very Thankful. We are planning on returning with some friends real soon. Stay here you will be happy you did.

Much less than expected
Overall this Indian Creek RV Park a fairly good place for those who are road weary from driving or just looking to stay in a cheap trailer park environment with a pool and a few frills for the family. The "lake" is nothing more than a "glorified duck pond" full of over grown algae, tons of mosquitoes and a few boats to float around in the"lake" should you feel really adventurous. The Cabins are nothing more than "shot gun " houses boasting a sink, shower, sink, refrigerator, Table complete with plastic chairs and a few weary beds that I would certainly tote in a can of Lysol for. As far as being a "camp ground" it gets a whopping two stars and that is being more than generous.

Love it
I love going there, it is so close to N.O. and the kids go crazy there! Seeing nature up close is great. my kids love the playgrounds and alligators. We also use an RV and we have never had trouble with the speed bumps. Maybe we are just lucky. The only complaint is that they made us move our boat, which we had parked at the empty campsite next to us. Nobody was there, but they wouldn't let us use the empty space. We had to park in an overflow lot and walk, as did our company. We thought that was silly! Over all, beautiful park.

Camping
State Park/Campground that's in the wilderness while being in town. Nice, quiet campground with water, electric, slabs, shower houses, laundry, even free wi-fi. Trails, fishing, things for kids too, it looked like. Gated, secure at night. Everything you might need close by. About a 15 minute drive will get you into New Orleans French Quarter if so desired. I liked this place and would like to go back just to spend more time at the park itself for rest and relaxation.

Wow! RV Cabin like Extended-Stay Room
Wow! Being accustomed to K Kabins, this cabin is the lap of luxury. We stayed in the one bedroom cabin. It is laid out much like an extended-stay suite with a galley area, including a small "full size" fridge, place settings for four, a microwave, and a coffee pot. The bed is in a separate room, and the couch (futon) folds out into a second bed. The RV park itself is well kept and clean, with an average-style but nice pool and play area. Wi-Fi is available for an additional charge, daily, weekly, or monthly. The service there was fine, but do not bother with their online information / reservation request. The operator told me point blank, when I gave up and called (after a month), that they don't often check messages through the web site. Problems with the web site are really the only negative comment I have. The web site is not clear in its descriptions of the RV facilities, either. I'm sure this is because they are more concerned with the attached hotel. The park takes several discount programs, but some are not valid on the cabins. Regarding the rest of the park, it has cabins, chalets, RV sites, and Executive RV sites. Cabins are on the ground with only one step up, while chalets are essentially small travel-trailers with a permanent porch, none of which have ramp access. Some RV spaces have privacy walls on each side (executive ones?). All cabins & chalets have a 4 adult max occupancy, despite some having available space for more. From the paper brochure on the back of the map: one-bedroom chalets and cabins contain one queen bed and a sleeper sofa; two-bedroom chalets contain a queen bed, a bunk bed, and a sleeper sofa; two-bedroom cabin contains a queen bed in the first bedroom, a double bed in the second bedroom, and a sleeper sofa.
