1.0 stars1.0 stars1.0 stars1.0 stars1.0 stars Urine Smells & Rude Staff - from TripAdvisor.com
I suppose all that glitters is not gold...but perhaps urine in your overpriced room. Disgusting smell and the complimentary bottled water had been opened and drank from. But if you want to escape your room, you can always go into the casino where you are sure to meet some of the rudest staff members. Perhaps some of the investment to add alligators to the lobby would've been better spent educating, training, or even replacing some of their staff.

5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars5.0 stars Wow! RV Cabin like Extended-Stay Room - from TripAdvisor.com
Wow! Being accustomed to K Kabins, this cabin is the lap of luxury. We stayed in the one bedroom cabin. It is laid out much like an extended-stay suite with a galley area, including a small "full size" fridge, place settings for four, a microwave, and a coffee pot. The bed is in a separate room, and the couch (futon) folds out into a second bed. The RV park itself is well kept and clean, with an average-style but nice pool and play area. Wi-Fi is available for an additional charge, daily, weekly, or monthly.

The service there was fine, but do not bother with their online information / reservation request. The operator told me point blank, when I gave up and called (after a month), that they don't often check messages through the web site. Problems with the web site are really the only negative comment I have. The web site is not clear in its descriptions of the RV facilities, either. I'm sure this is because they are more concerned with the attached hotel.

The park takes several discount programs, but some are not valid on the cabins. Regarding the rest of the park, it has cabins, chalets, RV sites, and Executive RV sites. Cabins are on the ground with only one step up, while chalets are essentially small travel-trailers with a permanent porch, none of which have ramp access. Some RV spaces have privacy walls on each side (executive ones?). All cabins & chalets have a 4 adult max occupancy, despite some having available space for more. From the paper brochure on the back of the map: one-bedroom chalets and cabins contain one queen bed and a sleeper sofa; two-bedroom chalets contain a queen bed, a bunk bed, and a sleeper sofa; two-bedroom cabin contains a queen bed in the first bedroom, a double bed in the second bedroom, and a sleeper sofa.

4.0 stars4.0 stars4.0 stars4.0 stars4.0 stars Friendly place - from TripAdvisor.com
We have been staying there about four times a year and would rate each stay above average to excellent. The staff is very accommodating and friendly and truly seem like they are glad we are there.

4.0 stars4.0 stars4.0 stars4.0 stars4.0 stars RV Cabins are an excellent value! - from TripAdvisor.com
My 9-year-old daughter and I had been driving 1700 miles cross-country and just wanted to relax at a place with a swimming pool that didn't cost a lot of money. Rather than go to a more expensive hotel in Alexandria, we chose one of the cabins in the RV Resort behind Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville, LA. It was an excellent value at $49.95 plus tax on a weeknight. The RV Resort is located behind the main hotel/casino building, but its guests still have access to the grounds like anyone else, including the use of both of the property's outdoor swimming pools. The cabins themselves are made to appear "rustic" from the outside, but are actually charming furnished apartments inside and suitable for family lodging with a kitchen set-up and deck for barbecuing. There are also larger trailers to stay in, plus parking slips for RV's.

If anyone has a beef about how Paragon reserves its rooms, we discovered it stems from the fact that lodging is primarily used as a comp for high-rolling gamblers and not that many people actually come in as tourists and pay for their accommodations the way we did. We were told, for example, that there was no way that we could possibly extend our stay for a second night when we first checked in because they were already overbooked by 5 cabins. By the morning, however, we inquired again and it was no problem at all to stay for another night. We chatted with other guests at the swimming pool and learned it was common practice for the casino to offer an extra night's lodging to gamblers. That's most likely the reason they make it a practice to overbook, because most of the guests probably don't take the offer at the time it is made by the casino host. After we checked out, a friend who has a Sapphire-level players' card at Paragon said "If you wanted to stay in those cabins, you should have just asked me first I'm entitled to two free nights a month down there!" That certainly made us feel silly!

Either way, the amenities are excellent and the price can't be beat try it for your next visit to the Alexandria metro area!
