Good time!
We had a great time at the KOA, the campground is very clean, the rest rooms also clean the only thing is that the shower heads are very low so if you are tall you have to bend down. We camped in a cabin the air conditioning was a plus. Don't rent the bikes too dangerous. The pool is clean, the owners are so nice. This is a dry county so if you want beer you wont find it around there. I think you can find it in Richmond we went to Jelico, Tenn. about 30 min. each way.

Great place for your kids to run
We are an active family with a 4 and 6 year old. I wanted a place where they could run, see some horses up close -this was it! They were able to brush a pony, go on a pony ride and see all the horses they wanted to. After 3 hours they were exhausted and fell asleep before we left the parking lot.
If you are an active family who like to incorporate a little exercise and family fun - this is it. There are two museums to escape the heat and the little ones found a sprinkler to run through. This is not a place with roller coasters and shopping. Bring your water bottles, spray everyone down with sunscreen, turn the cell phones off, and enjoy the outdoors. There is also horseback riding for older kids. The weight limit is 240lbs. -
Age 6 and under are free. I would bring a picnic lunch next time, I would go in the spring or fall when the weather isn't 95 degrees! We were traveling from TN to IN - and this was a great half way point. approx. 3 hours from Indianapolis and 3 hours from Knoxville, TN

The place for horse lovers
So I will address this upfront, we are not horse people. But we still really enjoyed the park. It was very interesting to see the variety of breeds. We attended all of the shows and enjoyed each of them. The grounds were beautiful and girls really enjoyed petting the miniature horses. If you purchase an Entertainment Book for the Lexington market these is a buy one get one free admission coupon.

Loved Jellystone Campground
We stayed in one of the log cabins. Very nice! The cabin was 2 rooms equipped with a/c, coffee maker, flat screen TV, shower, bathroom, 2 burner stove, mini microwave and toaster. It was extremely clean. We stayed in Cabin 9 (there are 10 in a row and we were next to the end). It was a perfect location. Right across from the playground and pool. We bought length of stay wristbands for the kids for $15 and they did the waterslide and mini golf all week. Highly recommend you do the same. The slide is quite a hit. The staff was friendly. Only real complaint was that the beds were not so comfortable, but, hey, it's camping. My husband, who hates to camp, even loved it and the wi-fi Internet service (complimentary). I highly recommend this place for families. There are a lot of activities, but we were too busy touring Mammoth Cave to do many of them. We did the New Entrance Tour (my favorite - but you have to be able to climb steps - 550 of them) and the Historic Tour. If you are worried about Fat Man's Misery, I think you will be fine if you are 250 pounds or less. It is not as tight of a squeeze as they make it sound - but you do have to walk sideways and wind through a little area.

Jellystone - Ehhh its ok
My husband and I stayed in one of the Amish cabins at Mammoth Cave Jellystone. I would definatly rate this place for kids. The cabin is ok, if it was clean we would have enjoyed it more. There are cobwebs everywhere within the cabin, the towel bar is broken in the bathroom and there were two lightbulbs not working. Also beware, Cabin 17, the T.V. reception is terrible. Also the T.V. is hung so high it is really hard to try to enjoy the T.V. at all.
The pluses are having the fridge, stove, microwave and coffee maker. Its also nice to sit on the porch and eat outside.
The staff are great, always had a smile and willing to help. I didn't report the problems as we are running around and want to stick to our schedule.
If you have kids this is a great place to be, if you want a quiet place to go, I would find somewhere else to be.
