Not too good
|
This was my first stay at Cenla RV Park. It was okay. Liked- pool, lake,and site., Dislike- playground, rules, and didn't feel real welcomed.
I liked the pool, however I did not care for the hours of operation which were too short for summer evenings. (It closed at 6PM on Sun-Thurs.)
I liked the playground equipment but I very much disliked the rocks as the surface because I got 2 skinned knees which would not have happened if the surface were sand.
I had a great time because I was with my family. We have camped at much better campgrounds and I don't think there would be any reason to return to Cenla.

Not Good At All!

Very, very crabby staff. This campground has more rules than the military! I am not a party girl by any means but I do like to have a conversation. A man walks the park at night...spooky in itself, Yes! He hates his job you can read it all over his face but he doesn't tolerate any quiet talking even. He actually asked a man to turn down a TV that was muted? Yes...wild he couldn't have heard it but said this anyway.
It wasn't just this crabby walker...the pool closes at 6 p.m. The receptionist in the office is a "trip"...just overall not good from whatever angle you look at it.
This campground is for you if you don't like to talk and if you like to sleep in your camper your whole stay.

For a pleasant stay along your way, plan to stay at On-Ur-Wa RV Park. We strive to offer excellence in outdoor hospitality.
On-Ur-Wa is conveniently located at Exit 112 off I-29 on the edge of Onawa, Iowa. We have 34 pull thru sites and can accommodate any size rv. All of our sites have full hook-ups and we offer free WIFI to our guests. We are within walking distance of 4 restaurants.
While you are in the area you may want to tour the Loess Hills, a truly beautiful day trip through the rolling lush farmland and woods of western Iowa. We are only 35 miles from Sioux City where there is a wonderful Lewis and Clark Interpretative Center to explore.
We are also a retailer of Iowa Wines.
I rate us as 4 stars, because we do not have a pool or other water amenity. Therefore, we are enjoyed more by the mature guest, than by families with active children.
We invite you to come and enjoy a peaceful and carefree time with us.

Nice, quiet, well-kept campground with easy access to both I-80 & I-380. It is in an area that used to be out in the country, but is now beginning to be developed. It still retains its country atmosphere. Level paved, FHU sites, 30 & 50 Amps, with lots of grass, flowers, and trees. Several seasonal sites. Close to university, so it fills up on fall weekends when there are home football games. They have newly installed WIFI. Friendly owners. Shopping mall and Wal-Mart nearby.

We chose this park based on the ratings in the Woodall's directory. 4 stars for facilities? How? We were packed in like sardines! Don't even think about putting your awning out - it will slam into your neighbors RV! This is not a big-rig friendly park! The lady in the office (who I was told is the owner) is unbelievably rude! The park is filled with locals. Majority of license plates were Iowa. We will never stay here again and will not recommend it to our RV friends.
