Family friendly - from TripAdvisor.com
|
|
This was our 5th year of getting together for a family reunion at Robin Hood Woods Campground and we intend on continuing this tradition as long as we can. Over the years we've rented between 5 and 7 of their cabins and 4-5 campsites and have been very pleased with our experience there. We have always found the cabins to be very clean, the pool immaculate and the people really friendly and helpful. The location is great, because you're only minutes to town and Lake Shelbyville. We've just booked our reunion for 2008 and highly recommend this resort if you're looking for a family friendly park.

Recommend Robin Hood Woods Resort - from TripAdvisor.com
|
My husband and I recently invited my daughter and her husband to join us for 2 nights in a 2-bedroom cabin at Robin Hood Woods Resort (June 8-10, 2007) for a weekend fishing trip on Lake Shelbyville. I would recommend it highly. The cabin was very clean, and we loved the location by the pond. It is also very conveniently located to Lithia Springs Resort, where we rented a boat slip for our bass boat during our stay.
The only thing the cabin lacked was closets....so plan to live out of your suitcase. Also, the road leading to the resort is a gravel road, and is very, very dusty (would be nice if it was asphalt).
The owner was very friendly and even loaned us an extension cord so we could plug in a fan in one of the bedrooms (even though the cabin has air conditioning, we like to use fans while we sleep).
We enjoyed our stay (even though we didn't have much luck fishing).

Stayed there for 4 yrs. - from TripAdvisor.com

We have taken our grandchildren here for 4 years and plan to do so again this year. The cabins are on a small lake and the kids can fish all they like. It's close to Lake Shelbyville where we rent a float boat for an afternoon..Some evenings there are activities planned and the pool is great. The prices are a little high but we're willing to pay for the experience.

Don't Go - from TripAdvisor.com

My husband and I stayed in a 1 1/2 bedroom cabin in October and were very disappointed at what we saw. The cabin itself was nice but when I opened the cabinet to get dishes to cook with, I found roaches "right next to the dishes". I went to open the other cabinet under the sink and saw another roach! I immediately went up to the front office and spoke with Barb, who runs the office and all she could do was explain to me that they were wood roaches and that they don't reproduce inside, so they wouldn't be a problem. Hello, is it me or does it matter to anyone else that it is still a roach! After explaining to her how petrified I am of bug's, she handed me a bottle of bug spray.....how classy. I was never offered a refund, discount or any other compensation at all. They don't offer any information on how to notify the owner's if you have a complaint, yet getting any kind of help from the front office is a big waste of time! They lost a couple of what would have been frequent visitor's due to the lack of customer concern and will steer anyone away every time I have the chance to.

Won't Stay there Again - from TripAdvisor.com
|
We stayed at Robin Hood Woods in June of 2006. We had rented one of their one bedroom cabins because our friends and family were camping there. It sure was not worth the $119.00 we were charged for the one night. Mattresses were only about 2 inches thick, the A/C was leaking into the kitchen of the cabin, and we were charged an extra $10.00 because we were only staying one night. (We had tried to stay two glad we didn't) As a campground, I would recommend it for an overnight, but would not recommend their Kamping Kabins. They are not worth $110.00 plus a $ 10.00 cleaning fee. No way! We will stay at the Shelbyville Inn next time. It was wonderful. The one night charge there was only $ 65.00. What a deal!

Nice Area. - from TripAdvisor.com
|
We stayed at the Robin Hood Woods Resort & Campground near Shelbyville, IL. and would recommend it to other campers. We rented a 1 bedroom cabin and it was very nice. There was a pond near the cabin and there are other cabins close by along with camper trailers. They also have a pool area and game area that is nice for kids. The cabin was clean and the shower was good. The campground is close enough to Shelbyville that you can drive back and forth from the campground to Shelbyville without it being a big deal. Lake Shelbyville is beautiful and the town is quaint and inviting.
