The Good, The Bad, and the Bacteria

A mistake with reservations caused me to be overcharged. The owner harassed us about setting up a tent on an electric site even though we were overcharged for it. His wife finally dragged him away shouting "leave them alone!" Their beach is not what the website claims. It's a 10-15 foot strip of sand next to a scum-covered pond. And all of their water was infested with Coliform bacteria and we were not notified of this upon checking in. Had I not gone to the camp store later, I would have never learned of the bacteria problem which was posted on a small paper sign amidst other piles of scattered paper. I was shocked that no one ever mentioned the toxic water. Furthermore, there was a large sign above a spigot on the bath house that read "Drinking Water" with no warning! Considering I had small children, I was furious that this was never mentioned. Had I not seen that sign, we could have become seriously ill. Their silence could have been devastating to our health. Stay away!
