Mountain luxury at it's finest! - from TripAdvisor.com
|
My wife and I stayed at one of their new cabin-style condos. It was everything we expected and more. The place was spacious and clean. We had our own kitchen and hot tub.
It was just my wife and me but these cabins have plenty of room for entire families and the cabins can even join together for family reunions or other large-group settings. These cabins are ideal for anything from a romantic getaway to a week-long family reunion.
They are in such a beautiful location too. There is plenty to do and see all around the property. The staff helped me map out our day-where to go, how to get there and how far away it was. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks Sawtelle Mountain Resort.

Do not stay Here! Worst Expereience ever! - from TripAdvisor.com
|
Sorry this is long, but worth a read...trust me.
In case you don't want to read I'll bullet the reasons why you shouldn't stay here.
- no hot water - hairs on pillows - no internet - no cable (or any tv channels for that matter) - unhelpful, lying staff - kid pooped in pool
I checked into the Sawtelle Mountain Resort in June 2007, I was supposed to stay for 3 nights. When I went in my room I noticed hairs on the pillows. I called the front desk and they told me to look for a maid outside. I didn't see one so they finally grudgingly got someone (young teenage boy and a four or five year old...not kidding) to come by and change pillowcases for me. The television only picked up a couple of channels and even then I could barely tell what they were the picture was so bad. The wireless internet didn't work. Still I stayed the first night. The next morning I turned on the hot water in the shower and it was completely cold. I called the front desk and they said they didn't know it wasn't working and they would call the maintenance man. An hour later I still didn't have any hot water, and I hadn't heard from the front desk people. I packed my bags and I checked out. At the front desk the girl told me that they had been working on it since 2 or 3am. The power went off in the night and their hot water system didn't come back on. So, they were lying to me when they said it was the first they heard of it when I called them at roughly 9am.
Also, when I went to check out there was another lady complaining and checking out early too. She even asked me where I was going to stay on such a short notice. Her complaint was that the water was cold and that the pool was closed. They had told me the day before that the pool would be closed the day I checked in, but the next day it would be open again. The next day it was not open. The lady at the front desk almost lost it and started crying with all of these complaints. She even confessed as to why the pool was closed. It was because...and I quote, "I can't help it that a kid [-] in the pool!" Yuck! Who would want to swim in a pool like that even after it was cleaned? So, the manager, of course, wasn't there when I checked out, and I called later that day and left messages and never heard back. I wanted to make sure they didn't charge me for all 3 days. They had a no early checkout policy, but the way I look at it they also had agreed to furnish me a clean room with wireless internet, cable tv, and hot water, and they had broken any agreement we might have had when they failed to deliver these items. A reputable place would have probably given me the first nights stay for free when there was no hot water, much less try to charge me for all 3 nights.
Sawtelle is not a reputable place. The manager ignored dozens of phone calls, always busy, or out of the office. After weeks of calling she finally found enough spine to tell me that they would in fact be charging me for all 3 nights and I could dispute it with my credit card company if I didn't like it, they didn't care. I disputed it and unfortunately my credit card company would not refund me for it. I've switched credit card companies since then.

Problems with RV reservations - from TripAdvisor.com
|
We stayed in the RV park here 2 years ago and our reservations had been messed up. We ended up next to the highway in different spots than we reserved. We thought we'd give it another try this year. We booked four spots next to each other. When my husband and I arrived, we had been moved to a different spot and so had my parents. The lady moved us back to our spot, but my parents could not move into their original spot until the next day. When we drove our trailer down to our spot, there was another trailer there, we had to go back to the office. We had to spend the first night in one spot and then pack up and move our trailer the next day. It took us over an hour just to check in! The lady at the desk told us that the manager and the owner's son move people all of the time. The people that checked in before us also had issues with their group and the people checking in before my mother had also been moved. I will never give these people my business again.

OK place - from TripAdvisor.com
|
Not impressive, but will do for one night. The pool was good size, but did not feel heated. The rooms are very small and there is no breakfast in the morning. Bed was very hard and the ice machine kept me up most of the night. It's about 20 minutes or so from a town so not convenient to walk to anything. Sawtelle also has a campground so it can become loud depending on who and how many are staying there. Staff didn't seem to enjoy their job.
