Great Spot To Camp in the Mountains
|
|
This is a great small campground with a fishing pond and a creek running along many of the tent sites. Wireless internet service is free. The bathhouse is very clean and a pleasure to use. Nearby hiking trails and many waterfalls provide lots of outdoor fun. The owners, Frank and Cindy Seaman, are knowledgeable about the area and very eager to make your stay fun and memorable. The nearby Alpine Village of Helen is a must see anytime of the year and is extra special during Oktoberfest. Gold and gem mining is very popular in the area and there are several good spots nearby. For wine lovers, there are half a dozen vineyards with tasting rooms within an hour's ride, with several located very close to the campground. Pottery has a long history and tradition in this area and there are many current potters making and selling their wares. The Folk Pottery Museum is located in nearby Sautee. Horseback riding, kayaking, tubing and white water rafting are all close by.
