Pretty good beach place - from TripAdvisor.com
Bahia Honda has a good beach, one of the best in the Keys that we have seen but there are better ones in Florida. The beaches are soft white and sandy with clear blue waters. The Atlantic side was quite seaweedy. The views from the bridge (both new and old) are really good. Restful place (in January) with good walks if you want them.

The best beach and best beach camping ! - from TripAdvisor.com
Real natural beauty, crystal clear water where you would think you were on a Caribbean island! My family and friends camped there June of 2008 for 2 nights, we had a beachfront campsite which was absolutely perfect ! There were no mosquitoes nor sand fleas. Yes, there was a lot of seaweed in the water across from campsites...but still was beautiful ! The campsite was pretty big as we fit my monster of a tent, another smaller tent, a canopy...

Great beach, great views and don't miss the snorelling trip! - from TripAdvisor.com
There is so much to do at Bahia Honda State park you won't be bored. You can either spend all day on one of the amazing beaches, go fishing, explore the nature trails, talk along a section of the old railway or take a boat trip to snorkel on the Looe Reef. The snorkeling trip is definitely not to be missed, the variety of fish we saw was amazing - including small sharks and rays.

Best beach in the keys! - from TripAdvisor.com
I love this beach! It's never super crowded and it's so natural. A lot of wildlife to see. Rent a kayak early in the morning and you'll see all kinds of fish and animals. We saw rays, tons of fish, birds, and even a little shark. The only bad thing about this beach is the seaweed that tends to build up on the shore. This is compensated by the fact however, that you can wade out really far into the clear water and just hang out on a sandbar.

Excellent Beach - from TripAdvisor.com

This is a great beach even for non swimmers. You will be literally walk into ocean atleast 15-20 feet from shore with no waves. Be sure to take your snorkel out there. Excellent! Highly recommended over key west beaches.

piece of paradise - from TripAdvisor.com
This just plain beautiful, campsites are great, however some don't have enough shade and could get really hot. Reservations need to be made way ahead of time, maybe 6 months or a year in advance. They have some problems with seaweed, so just check with park staff before heading that way- it can get really stinky and attracts bunch of bugs. The facilities are clean and nice and staff are friendly.

Best vacation state park - from TripAdvisor.com
Bahia Honda State Park is the best one I have been to. The beaches are amazing and they are still the way they were 100 years ago. I went snorkeling for the first time last year in Bahia Honda and without realizing stayed at the beach for 8 hours. My back was severely burned, therefore I recommend reapplying sunscreen throughout the day, and wearing a white shirt while snorkeling! The campsites were spacious, I had a very large cottage style...

Great snorkeling trip - from TripAdvisor.com
The snorkeling trip to the Looe Key was great. Call the day before or in the morning to find out if they have tour to go out to the reef. They don't run the boat trip if there weren't enough people or rough sea. The boat ride was 45 minutes to the reef. We stop right on top of the reef. There were many fish and we didn't have to go far from the boat to see them. It was a great snorkeling trip. The captain and the dive master made it even more...

The Best Thing about the Florida Keys - from TripAdvisor.com
The Bahai Honda State Park, with the affordable entry fee of $3 a person, is a must see. Actually a one day visit is a must. Make this park your "down day" in the Florida Keys, and just relax or fish the beautiful beaches. This gem is clean, well maintained, and has a great little store. Loved it!

Beautiful natural beach - from TripAdvisor.com
We were lucky to spend two days of our honeymoon on Sandspur Beach. It's a beautiful natural beach, which means there is seaweed, but also means wildlife near the shore. There is a great sandbar that extends well out into the water that creates a wonderful shallow lagoon that's up to a meter deep at high tide in places, but is mostly soft coral sand and a great place to hunt for white clam shells. This is *not* a touristy place. It you need a...

A return to Bahai Honda - from TripAdvisor.com
We were at Bahai Honda State Park at the end of August, beginning of September. We decided to come back...we spent the day Nov 8th 2007. It was a blast! This time there was no seaweed...and it was much busier than the last time. If only I lived here!

My family loved it (from Bossier City, LA) - from TripAdvisor.com
At the beginning of June'07 my family stopped here on our way to Key West. We had a great time. We only used the Sandspur Beach and the area was very nice. The beach was not real wide but it was definitely wide enough to enjoy being there. There was a line of seaweed on the beach, but it did not stink nor was there noticeable bugs. In fact, an earlier review said there were critters below & above water, but we didn't notice anything bad. The...

Travel Agents opinion-The best beach Ive ever been to! Beach goer perspective - from TripAdvisor.com
I took my family on a vacation to the Keys just this past June/July 2007. Before doing Orlando we did 4 days in the Keys and this beach was definitely on my list of things to do. If you are a beach person Bahia Honda is the best beach in the Keys and in the USA so stay in Marathon or Duck Key or Big Pine Key. The Keys are long about 100 miles of beautiful splendor, Caribbean blue waters and a boaters paradise. Bahia Honda particularly Sandspur...
