Fantastic campground - from TripAdvisor.com
|

Brilliant campground. Toilets clean, showers by reception and plenty of them. Try and confirm a site that is no more than 5 minutes walk to the reception. Means you can get to the showers easy enough (can drive and park) and catch the free bus to the restaurants and canyon. We ate in the cafe buffet style 10 minutes walk away. This was cheap and good food. We also ate by the canyon in one of the hotels. When we booked it was busy on the website...

Nice campground - from TripAdvisor.com

Overall nice campground. Centrally located to everything. Though you do not have a view of the canyon at any campsite. I thought I heard the other campground in the East entrance does. Campground is very rocky so tent campers make sure you have lots of cushion for the floor of your tent. We would stay there again.

Absolutely Wonderful - from TripAdvisor.com
|

This campsite was perfect. Each individual site is large and all sites are conveniently located near both restrooms and fresh water pumps. The site even has showers and laundry facilities (which of course have fees, but the fees are minimal and the convenience is wonderful). The rim of the canyon is just 15 minutes walking distance away from Mather Campground!! Also, the sites are near FREE shuttle buses that make a large loop around all of the...

Loved It! - from TripAdvisor.com

We were pleasantly surprised by this campground! We used the NPS website to book our campsite, which was rather easy and we liked being able to choose our site.
The sites are quite large and ours was mostly surrounded by trees. We could have fit a couple more tents on our site! For $18/night it was completely worth it and we will be returning there again someday.
We stayed two nights and my only complaint was how cold it got at...

Good campsite - from TripAdvisor.com
|

Although there were lots of people and RVs around, Mather Campground offered lots of privacy and an overall great camping experience. The bathrooms and water pumps were conveniently located and the showers and laundry were a luxury.
We bought a new tent and unfortunately it rained about everyday and some of our gear got wet so the dryers at the laundry were a godsend. We were on the outer side of the Juniper Loop - we had elk come up within...

Nice campground - from TripAdvisor.com

We were going to stay at a KOA near Flagstaff, but decided to try this campground instead. We are so glad we did. It was so much easier to be right at the canyon instead of having to drive up to it from further south. The campsites were shaded and comfortable. We were right next to the bathroom (important because I'm six months pregnant) and they had soap and water, and around back, a dish washing sink. Watch out for the ravens, though. The can...

Back to Nature - from TripAdvisor.com
|
|
Traveling with a group of 41 we found Mather camp ground just the place that suited us,fresh air back to nature it is not every day that elk are running around a campsite. We found that there was plenty to do especially for the teenagers we had with us. There are plenty of places to eat that are not over priced and the range of souvenirs is fantastic with something for every budget.
